On October 22, Chinese President Xi Jinping reached out to Le Quang Liem, congratulating him on his appointment as the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
President Xi emphasized the close strategic communication he has maintained with Vietnamese leaders in recent years, co-piloting the China-Vietnam relationship into a new era marked by the establishment of a strategically significant community of shared future. He recalled that in August, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s successful visit to China allowed for in-depth discussions, leading to important consensus on deepening the construction of the China-Vietnam community of shared destiny.
Not long ago, during your visit to China, we exchanged views on advancing comprehensive strategic cooperation. We agreed on the importance of approaching our bilateral relationship from a strategic perspective, ensuring it remains on the right track.
Both sides are tasked with effectively implementing the high-level consensus reached by our two parties and nations, pushing for more pragmatic outcomes in China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperation, while supporting the modernization processes in both countries.
China will steadfastly support Vietnam in pursuing a socialist path that aligns with its national conditions and in preparing for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. I place a high value on the development of China-Vietnam relations and look forward to working alongside President Le Quang Liem to deepen our community of shared destiny, ultimately bringing greater benefits to our people.
