In a significant step for its growth, Burger King Nigeria has launched its 16th location at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) in Ikeja, Lagos. This expansion signals Burger King’s commitment to revolutionizing the quick-service restaurant landscape in Nigeria, according to Mary Nnah.
The grand opening was a memorable occasion, welcoming dignitaries, customers, and partners. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a kitchen tour, and a lucky draw, where one fortunate guest won a free return flight courtesy of Ibom Air.
Rushdi Ibrahim, Managing Director and CEO of Allied Foods and Confectionery Services Limited, which operates Burger King in Nigeria, expressed pride in the company’s impressive growth. “We’ve opened 16 restaurants in just 33 months — roughly one restaurant every two months. This pace reflects our team’s dedication and the warm reception from the Nigerian market toward our brand.”
Ibrahim elaborated on the strategic choice to open the MMA2 branch. “Nigeria thrives on opportunities, and MMA2, as the country’s leading airport, presented an ideal location. Our objective was to provide Burger King’s exceptional dining experience at this critical junction, catering to the diverse palates of travelers.”

Ibrahim emphasized their focus on affordability and convenience, highlighting their efficient ordering systems via kiosks.
“While we innovate, we remain true to our brand essence,” Ibrahim asserted. “We won’t stray from who we are — the Home of the Whopper. Our customers expect high-quality, flavorful food, and we are dedicated to meeting those expectations.”
As for future expansions, Ibrahim stated, “Our priority is customer convenience while maintaining quality. We aim to be where our customers are, whether in bustling cities or major transport hubs.”
