The Flying Eagles, Nigeria’s U20 boys’ soccer team, are preparing for their final training camp in Ikenne, Ogun State, ahead of the upcoming WAFU B U20 Championship in Togo. After an impressive run to the quarter-finals at the 2023 FIFA World Cup, the team is set to spend a week at the renowned Remo Sports Institute before they make their way to Lome.

As they aim to defend the title they clinched in Niger Republic two years ago, the Flying Eagles will compete in a challenging Group B alongside Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire. The tournament, running from October 17th to 31st, will also see host nation Togo facing off against Ghana, Benin, and Niger Republic in Group A.

This championship not only highlights the regional competitive spirit but also serves as a crucial qualifying event for next year’s Africa U20 Cup of Nations. The top four teams from the tournament will have the chance to represent Africa at the FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Chile next year.
