On October 6, local time, Hezbollah launched more than a hundred rockets targeting various sites in northern Israel. In retaliation, the Israeli Air Force carried out airstrikes against several Hezbollah positions in Beirut, Lebanon’s capital.
A Hezbollah spokesperson confirmed that the Karmel military base in northern Israel was among their targets. Israeli officials supported this claim, stating that more than 100 rockets were directed at Israel’s northern border that day. Reports from local hospitals indicated that the city of Haifa was impacted, with rockets and shrapnel causing minor injuries to several individuals.
Following the rocket attacks, the Israeli Air Force reported strikes on Hezbollah’s intelligence offices and weapon storage facilities in Beirut. Lebanese authorities revealed that the southern part of Beirut and nearby regions faced extensive bombardment from Israeli forces, resulting in over 1,400 fatalities in the past two weeks.
