Emma Raducanu has recently withdrawn from the China Open, citing a foot injury she sustained during her last match at the Korea Open. The British No. 2 had to retire from her quarter-final clash against Daria Kasatkina just a week ago.

Despite successfully qualifying for the main draw in Beijing and climbing to No. 54 in the rankings, the 21-year-old former US Open champion is facing yet another hurdle in her career. In a post on X, Raducanu explained, “Hello, last week in Seoul I sprained some ligaments in my foot, which unfortunately need some more time to heal. This means I can’t play in Beijing, but I hope to be back competing as soon as I can.”

Injuries have been a persistent challenge for Raducanu since her stunning triumph in New York three years ago, and she has spent a considerable part of 2023 recuperating from wrist and ankle surgeries.
