Nestled in the southern foothills of the eastern Qinling Mountains, Danfeng County in Shaanxi Province is a quintessential mountainous region characterized by “nine mountains, half water, and half farmland.” This autumn, the Sixth Primary School in Danfeng County hosted a special scholarship distribution ceremony shortly after the new school term began. Twenty underprivileged but academically successful girls received scholarships from afar, marking a warm start to their new academic year.

This initiative represents the first implementation of the “Spring Bud Program,” a project supported by the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund, thanks to the donations from Fude Life Insurance. In addition to the activities in Danfeng County, another 40 girls in Lianggao and Lueyang counties in Shaanxi also received “Spring Bud” scholarships shortly after the school year began.

Launched by the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund in 1989, the Spring Bud Program aims to improve the educational conditions for girls from impoverished families. Particularly since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the program has gained considerable attention and support from the government, as well as active participation and generous donations from various sectors of society. It has initiated numerous forms of assistance focused on girls’ education, safety, and health, helping many young girls achieve their dreams of education and personal growth.

Fude Life Insurance, adhering to its corporate mission of “enriching the public and promoting virtue globally,” has consistently placed high importance on fulfilling its social responsibilities. Since 2013, the company has been dedicated to its “Little Dolphin Program,” which emphasizes caring for children’s healthy and happy growth. The little dolphin symbolizes intelligence, skillfulness, unity, and kindness, embodying heartfelt wishes for children. To date, the Little Dolphin Program has hosted over 1,700 events nationwide, donating more than 36 million yuan in resources and providing over 3.7 billion yuan in accident insurance coverage, benefiting over 180,000 children.

This year marks the twelfth consecutive year of the Little Dolphin Program. Motivated by a shared commitment to fostering children’s health and happiness, Fude Life Insurance has paired with the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund. Their collaboration leverages existing programs within the Fund, such as the “Spring Bud Program,” “HELLO Kids,” and “Ankang Library,” extending the support model of material aid, insurance protection, and psychological care. Together, they aim to broaden their reach and achieve targeted assistance for more children.

The scholarship distribution at Danfeng County’s Sixth Primary School is just one example of the collaborative efforts under the Spring Bud Program. Additionally, in key poverty alleviation areas across Inner Mongolia, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, and Ningxia, a total of 600 primary school-aged girls are receiving support, nurturing the growth of the Spring Buds.

For years, Fude Life Insurance has maintained a focus on the welfare of rural children, continually expanding its support through the Little Dolphin Program. This partnership with the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund aims to inspire broader involvement from various sectors, gathering kindness and love to create a collective force that supports healthy development for children in rural areas, guiding them toward a brighter future.
