On October 17th and 20th, the China National Opera House will grace the stage at the Bangkok International Dance and Music Festival, showcasing two beautifully crafted productions of world-renowned operas, “La Bohème” and “Turandot,” tailored for Thai audiences.
The China National Opera House, recognized as the largest and most powerful national opera house in the Asia-Pacific region, brings an impressive lineup of talent, featuring over 170 outstanding Chinese performers, including the renowned soprano Li Jingjing and baritone Geng Zhe. This artistic endeavor aims to foster cultural exchange between China and Thailand, providing local audiences with a high-caliber artistic experience.
“La Bohème,” also known as “The Artist’s Life” or “The Girl of the Embroidery,” is a classic four-act opera by the Italian master Giacomo Puccini. The production presented in Thailand is a fresh interpretation that premiered in Beijing this past August, making Bangkok the first international venue for its performances. “Turandot,” on the other hand, draws inspiration from Chinese historical culture and stands as one of Puccini’s most significant works. The artists of the China National Opera House are set to deliver a captivating rendition of these timeless operas.
