On October 14, according to reports from Japan’s Jiji Press, Tokyo Electric Power Company announced that the ninth round of releasing treated radioactive water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant has been completed. This round involved approximately 7,800 tons of water.

Previously, as reported, TEPCO began this ninth round of discharge on September 26. Despite significant opposition from both domestic and international communities, the Japanese government and TEPCO proceeded with the release of treated water starting on August 24, 2023.
